Bollsy
Here’s the thing: it’s a quantified fact that popular social media outlets are losing users by the hundreds on a daily basis. They’ve become more volatile places, and people do not know how to deal with it other than leaving or unfriending people. Social media outlets are not going anywhere anytime soon, but what should change is how people use them. The very nature of how most popular social media outlets function creates echo chambers of only similar beliefs with little to no exposure or growth. We want to create a simple app, that purposely caters people to the exact opposite of their belief system, to see what they can make of it. Exposure them to opportunities where they can learn to disagree.
This is why we’ve created Bollsy
Opportunity
People have stronger opinions than ever before:
Information is so easy to access these days, so people are more aware of socially polarizing issues.
People want to put these opinions to the test:
Expressing dissent is becoming more limited through comment section removal/disabling and platforms that prefer to censor content instead of foster the exchange of ideas.
No one is showing people how to express their raw emotion in a constructive way:
Confrontation & discomfort doesn’t have to be a negative side effect of social media– It can be the starting point of refining ideas, understanding an opposing belief, & having a chance to grow.
Action
A platform that encourages speaking openly on any topic, and effectively communicate with people who disagree.
Be surrounded by people who are transparent and direct.
Become a better arguer or gain more perspective and understanding.
Use your expression to promote yourself, friends, businesses, or products.
Features
Link users with polarized beliefs; dissolving their comfort zone/echo chamber.
A point system that rewards engagement, incentivizing meaningful interaction.
Simple UX/UI that helps keep conversations fluid & focused.
App navigation mechanism creates urgency to engage– once you swipe past a post, you can’t go back. This encourages quality content creation.
You get to see your friends too, don’t feel bad!**********
Encourage honesty with relaxed social boundaries.
Social Benefit
Users have access to the most current arguments (for or against their beliefs).
The more they interact, users become more comfortable with disagreement.
Transparent dialogue can allow users to ‘see things from the other side’.
Our features accommodate an overlooked market: brazen, unfiltered people in need of making a meaningful connection.
Market Validation
-37 million people in our potential market > 4.3 million people will click on an ad > if we reach this market, there is the potential for $8 million a day based on ad clicks and click through rates
